This weekend C & S ventured 45 min out of the city to go hiking with S's siblings and SO's. J-E cancelled at the last minute which was disappointing, but we still all had a good time hiking the trails. C's only real symptom this pregnancy has been fatigue, and so we took it easy. We hiked about 5km in the heat and enjoyed a great view overlooking hills and valleys, forest and fields of nearby local farms. We returned to the resort and went for a swim - which was a huge relief from the heat. There were 3 weddings at the resort (yes...THREE) which did NOT impede our desire for a relaxing getaway.
We enjoyed dinner together - C did not enjoy the ravioli with lamb ragu, however. Unfortunately it gets added to the list of "aversions" she has been experiencing during the pregnancy. Nothing really makes C sick - she just doesn't feel like meat/fish. The highlight of the meal had to be J recounting the childhood "playing vampire" story that had us all in stitches.
We got home on Sunday and S proceeded to tackle the baby room renovations with a flurry of activity. She didn't stop for two days. Finally all the wallpaper is removed, and some of the twenty coats of old paint. It should look nice painted with a pale yellow. C helped a bit, taking many breaks in between scraping for a quick cat nap.
