In the grand scheme of things, 40 weeks is really not that long. It feels like yesterday when we first found out C was pregnant. That said, it has been quite a journey even over the past 4 weeks. It's amazing that you consider every little symptom more carefully now - wondering if there are enough or not enough symptoms at any given moment.
Last week we met a midwife. It was a good, but wasted appointment because she's moving out of the city, so we were reassigned and they didn't have time to call us to reschedule the appointment with this other woman. Let me tell you, I could not believe how difficult it is to even get a midwife. Apparently, over 30 people who want to have a midwife for their pregnancy get turned away every month. It's pretty unbelievable. I suppose we're quite lucky in the sense that our due date is estimated to be in early March and we called very early on (at about 5 weeks gestation). We have not yet committed to taking this approach, but it's something we're exploring right now.
At any rate, we meet the midwife that is assigned to us from this clinic, as well as another midwife from another clinic (closer to our home) early next week. We'll see how things go and make a decision soon!
